Permit Procedures

General Information

The Community Development Department’s Building Division is responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and to help foster a built environment that is healthy, sanitary, and safe. Our responsibilities include:

  • Issuing building permits for residential and commercial construction
  • Performing construction plan reviews
  • Inspecting construction activities
  • Issuing addresses for new construction
  • Investigating complaints or reports of code violations
  • Interpreting relevant code provisions
  • Reporting construction activity to relevant agencies

 

Office Location & Hours

Our office is located at 2200 SW 18th Way in the red building next to the cul-de-sac. We are open Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

While walk-in service is always welcomed, our Staff encourages you to contact us ahead of time to make an appointment if you intend to apply for, drop off, or pick up permits or plans.
