General Information

Applications are accepted for specific position vacancies only. Applications or resumes are not kept on file in anticipation of an opening.

When a position is advertised, applicants must complete and submit a City of Troutdale application form on or before the closing date specified on the job announcement. Late application material will not be accepted. Recruitment timelines generally provide 7 to 14 days for submission of applications. See How To Apply for information on obtaining an application.

Advertisement Procedure
All current openings are advertised on the City’s employment page. Some job openings are given a wider recruitment effort and announcements are forwarded to selected agencies and colleges/schools.

Selection and Notification Procedure
Following a thorough review of all applications, the most qualified applicants are invited to participate in the selection process. The City will contact all candidates it intends to interview.

Testing
All City of Troutdale prospective employees must pass a background investigation and most positions require a drug screen, and some positions also require a pre-employment physical. Hiring for some positions will be contingent upon passing a psychological exam.
