Mayor Casey Ryan
casey.ryan@troutdaleoregon.gov

I am a native Oregonian and was raised in the northeast part of Oregon in beautiful Wallowa County.  I have been fortunate enough to be a resident of Troutdale since February of 2006.  I am a father of 4 children and married to an amazing partner, Sarah.  Troutdale has been a great place for me to raise my children.  It is an honor to serve as Mayor.

I have been an active member of the East Multnomah Community for many years.  From coaching YMCA basketball, coaching Little League or servicing on boards and committees I have been an active volunteer.  I have always felt it was important to be an active member in your community and do what you can do to give back.

I ran for Mayor because I wanted to be part of the amazing opportunities our city has to offer.  Our city has a small town feel, but being part of the metro area, we still have many of the benefits that a larger city has to offer.  We are at a very significant time in our city and it is important that we make decisions that will protect the wonderful quality life we have in Troutdale.

david.ripma@troutdaleoregon.gov

I have worked as a patent lawyer for most of my career, 27+ years.  My current job is in-house Patent Counsel for Sharp Laboratories of America, Inc., a high-tech research company located in Camas, Washington.  I am very involved in encouraging the historic elements of our community, and I value that we live in a special place.
Troutdale is a beautiful city with a desirable location and unique history. Probably our biggest challenge today is maintaining and enlarging our tax base, to keep Troutdale fiscally strong. We must attract new businesses and homes, and do it in a way that complements what is good about our city. In addition to economic development, I urge citizens to join me in keeping Troutdale safe through support of our police, and keeping Troutdale green through support of parks and greenspaces. My goal as a city councilor is to help keep Troutdale the greatest place to live and work.

Councilor Randy Lauer, (Position #2)
randy.lauer@troutdaleoregon.gov

As a lifelong resident my roots run very deep here in East Multnomah County. After graduating from Gresham High School, I went on to complete 1 year of post high school education at Mt. Hood Community College but left to pursue full-time work and to start a family. I am a proud father to an amazing 15 year old son, and a proud uncle to 4 awesome nieces. My family serves as one reason why I chose to serve on the Council of Troutdale.

From a very young age I wanted nothing more than to follow in father’s footsteps and join the military but after 3 separate attempts, with 3 separate branches of the military, and as recently as 1 year ago, I was turned down due to an eye disorder called, keratoconus. I was left defeated and with no option to serve my country. This represents my second reason and why I was compelled to run for election to the city council. If I wasn’t able to serve my Country militarily, then I would do my best to serve my Community civically.

Councilor Glenn White, (Position #4)
glenn.white@troutdaleoregon.gov

My family and I have enjoyed living in Troutdale for over 28 years and especially value the friendships we continue to make. Some of my favorite things to do are: outdoor recreational activities, organic gardening, and being a grandpa.
Locally I've worked as a truck driver/mechanic for Sunshine Dairy, Boeing Food Service Director, and Tads' Chicken N Dumplings Line Cook.  My wife works making pottery and volunteers on committees. My children went to Troutdale Elementary, MHCC and local colleges. They love our home and I will do my best with your input to keep Troutdale vibrant, affordable and special.

In caring for our community, it's been an honor to volunteer. I've served on the Troutdale City Council for 8 years, Citizens Advisory Committee for 6 years, River Safety Committee and Open for Business Sub Committee. Some of my priorities are supporting safety, thoughtful growth, strong schools, community health, business friendly policies and maintaining infrastructure.  As your councilor I work for you and continue to advocate for an open city process that includes truthfully informing you (pros and cons), justification of expenses, a thorough budget review, and committee and community involvement.  I always ask myself before decision making, as our past Mayor Paul Thalhofer would, "Is it good for Troutdale?"

For 100 years Troutdale Volunteers have helped make this small town so special.  I encourage all to come to city meetings, work sessions, town halls and volunteer for city committees.  I look forward to representing and working with you to enhance Troutdale's Community.
